Under 11’s Clinch the Sussex title
On a beautiful Sunday morning at Goodwood our Under 11 girls hosted Haywards Heath Cricket club in a title match game. In an eight-a-side pairs game it was all to play for.
Chichester won the toss and selected to bowl first. The girls came out strong and took six wickets in their innings. Tight fielding and teamwork meant we kept the runs down giving them a fighting chance with the bat.
The girls spirits were high and they knew what they had to do to try and secure the win. Haywards Heath came out strong and took some fantastic wickets that meant scores were on par.
The final pair came into bat needing to widen the gap and that is exactly what they did! A confident win for these girls and very much deserved.
We now move to play in the Southeast Regionals on Monday 25th August against winners from other counties.
These girls have grown from being part of our girls only Dynamos group to a strong squad competing well in the area and beyond. There were many girls that played their part in getting to this point and we are extremely proud of all of them. This can't happen without the support from Head Girls and Women's Coach Sean Dobbs who works tirelessly to get these girls to where they are. Thanks to Rathbones and CI Optometrist for the ongoing sponsorship to allow the club to continue to grow girls cricket.
