At our recent AGM James Mayne was made a Club Vice-President in recognition for his exceptional service as Junior Cricket Manager over a period of 12 years for which he continues to look for new ways to develop and grow. In that time our Junior Section has grown in excess of 50%, in 2025 there were in excess of 300 junior members
James has organises the coaching sessions, and coaches, arranges matches and extra opportunities for our young members to engage with and develop their cricket, whilst recruiting new volunteer team managers and coaches to support this incredible growth.
It is not just about number growth, but there is a consistent improvement in the standard of coaching provision across the section.
In addition to the work James does at Priory Park, he runs the local Sussex Western Area League to ensure that junior players across the West Sussex get the opportunity to play competitive cricket throughout the year (both indoor - Winter and outdoor - Summer).
