Chichester Priory Park Cricket Club Celebrates Anna Davies' National Metro Bank Cricket Award Win
Chichester Priory Park Cricket Club (CPPCC) is bursting with pride following Anna Davies' recent triumph at the Sussex Cricket Foundation's Cricket Collective Awards. Anna was crowned the Metro Bank Champion of Girls' Cricket, a well-deserved recognition of her tireless efforts in growing the sport among young girls in the Chichester community.
Anna's journey began four years ago when she set out to create a thriving girls' cricket scene in her local area. Her passion and dedication have been instrumental in transforming CPPCC into a hub for girls' cricket. Today, the club boasts U9, U11, and U13 girls' teams, with approximately 70 girls aged 5 to 15 regularly participating in coaching sessions.
"We are incredibly proud of Anna and her remarkable achievements," said Gary Rustell, Chairman of CPPCC. "Her commitment to developing girls' cricket has been truly inspiring. She has not only created opportunities for young girls to play the sport but has also fostered a sense of community and belonging. Anna would also want us to acknowledge the support she has inspired from parents, carers, volunteers that enable these things to happen in such a successful way.”
